Contract flexibility important when outsourcing for payroll and other business services
As management looks for ways to cut expenses and increase efficiency amid ongoing economic uncertainty, many still consider outsourcing a viable option for a number of business services.
A survey of 450 businesses by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals at a recent conference revealed that greater contract flexibility is a top concern when pursuing outsourcing relationships.
Almost 75 percent of survey respondents intend to do the same or more outsourcing "in response to the financial crisis." Already 19 percent of those organizations surveyed say they have taken steps to renegotiate prices on outstanding outsourcing agreements.
With many businesses focused on retaining staff and improving bottom lines, some are considering outsourcing time consuming activities like payroll management in the future.
By turning to a third party service to handle the payroll process, business owners can leave the details like data security, information privacy and deadline management to the pros.
IAOP survey results showed that businesses are conducting extra due diligence on outsourcing partners in hopes of finding a long-term partner.
