NEBS Business Products has – once again – been listed in the Huronia Business Times annual review of the Top 100 Employers in Simcoe County.
NEBS, which has been operating out of Midland, Ontario since its inception in 1976, has created “an innovative work culture” states the article, published in the March 2009 Top 100 Edition of the newspaper.
“While the corporate innovator continues to offer such things as cheques, forms and labels for its clients,” the article continues, “business owners can now go to NEBS for a host of other business services they can’t do on their own.” These services include payroll management, business registration & incorporation as well as Website design, hosting and maintenance.
NEBS is part of an impressive collection of employers on the Simcoe County Top 100 list, including Casino Rama, The Source by Circuit City, Georgian College, Telus Mobility Call Centre, Royal Victoria Hospital, Bank of Montreal, General Mills, TeleTech Canada and Honda of Canada.
The article, part of an annual review of Simcoe County’s top employers, features an in-depth interview with Alison Durtnall, Director of Marketing for NEBS, and provides some insight into why NEBS has managed to remain vital in today’s ever-changing marketplace.
“We had to re-invent our business because changing technology has shifted demand for some of our product categories,” the article quotes Durtnall. “Being able to provide (a complete range) of services helps to position us as a leading provider of products and services to help small business grow their businesses.”
But it’s not all about selling, it’s about educating, notes the article, which focuses on the wealth of white papers, webinars and advice provided to Canadian small businesses free of charge. Topics range from the challenges of starting a small business, including legal ramifications of incorporation and trademark, to marketing tactics to survive and thrive during a down economy.
Responding to the article, Durtnall commented “We are honored that, despite the changing economic and business marketplace, NEBS continues to be considered – by both its employees and the community – as an exciting and challenging place to work.”
