View Article  Survey: Businesses expect 'quiet' hiring climate over near-term
In the upcoming quarter, 15 percent of Canadian employers expect to increase payroll numbers while only 9 percent are planning to reduce workforces. According to the lasts Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, 73 percent of survey respondents plan to maintain current staff levels indicating a "quiet hiring climate for the second quarter of 2009." Manpower explains that hiring confidence numbers in Canada have dropped from previous quarters, but there are some businesses eyeing growth.   more »
