Marketing tactics for start-ups and growing businesses
By literally setting up shop in town, one small farm is starting to grow its business.
Rowe Farms' products are available in well-known retail outlets, but as a way to introduce consumers to its brand, the supplier of sustainably raised meat and poultry has opened a second storefront in downtown Toronto.
"What we're doing here is creating a marketing vehicle, a pleasant space that lets people know who we are," Jamie Cooney, CEO of Rowe Farm, tells the Financial Post News.
To grow the business, Rowe now focuses on marketing, distribution, and quality control but has increased supply of product by buying from other farms meeting its standards of quality, according to the article.
However, for new start-ups with limited budgets experts suggest some lower cost marketing tactics to get going.
According to Inc. magazine, building an attractive, usable website and using word-of-mouth marketing are two important ideas.
Inc. also reminds small business owners that marketing on the web and using search engines to maximize visitors to your business website are keys to increasing revenue.
