Technology and a passion for business help entrepreneurs achieve goals
Small businesses can learn a lot from industry experts.
Given the increasingly difficult economic conditions, programs sponsored by small business advocates are a good way for existing businesses or those contemplating setting up shop to get tips from the pros.
The Intelligencer reports that the Small Business Centre of Prince Edward County-Hastings County-Quinte has tapped Dr. Ernesto Sirolli to be the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Bridges to Better Business conference in Belleville.
Sirolli advises small businesses to think about the long-term and pursue a business line that they love, the newspaper reports.
Other industry players having found success credit the internet for making small business management outside a metro area a very real possibility.
New West Publishing owner Jonathan Weber runs his media company from the Rocky Mountain West.
Technology advancements have made this a very viable alternative to operating amid a crowded cityscape.
He writes in Making Payroll, a new feature column on The Big Money, "The internet made my company possible, and we struggle to keep up with the incredible flood of innovation that's sweeping the web - all too conscious of the fact that staying on top of the latest tools and techniques is critical to our future."
