Canada Revenue Agency experts advise small businesses on a variety of management issues

File organization and business registration were two of the many topics covered at the most recent Kawartha Lakes Small Business Enterprise Centre lecture series.

The Lindsay Post reports that small business owners were treated to a three hour how-to seminar by Canada Revenue Agency experts last week covering a variety of small business management topics.

Highlighting the importance of business registration, the experts explained the difference between sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation in addition to addressing some pressing tax issues.

Small business owners received tips on tax return responsibilities and the collection of goods and services tax, says the Lindsay Post.

According to the newspaper, the overarching theme of the lecture was to "keep good records." Organized files help during tax season and to evaluate areas of strength and weakness in the business.

For small business owners still overwhelmed with some of the administrative tasks that help a company run more smoothly, look for outsourced tools to ease your burden. Software for accountingpayroll and website hosting are two operations commonly handled by third parties.
