Why written content on a website may help grow the business

Building a business website is the first step to establishing an ecommerce presence. Some say having good online content is the next step to growing your client base.

It may seem simple, but CanadaOne magazine discusses the importance of listening to and writing for your audience in its February issue.

The magazine says good web content will talk to customers about their interests, specifically benefits they will get from a product or service.

CanadaOne offers a few "don'ts" to avoid as well. Don't write in a manner that is over-the-top and over embellished and don't be self-absorbed, advises the magazine.

Just one month earlier, in its January issue, CanadaOne advised businesses on how to use website content to increase search engine rankings.

The ABC's of Search Engine Optimization offers 26 tips to enhance a business' online presence including adding fresh content regularly and ensuring your website design uses XML for data transfer.

They advise submitting your website for inclusion in the Yahoo Directory.
