The Toronto Star published an article today, noting "Business cheques were supposed to conform with the new rules as of June 30, 2007.  However, a grace period lasts until Sept. 2, 2008, to account for the fact that many companies order cheques only once a year."

"As for businesses, they have to ensure they're making the changes to cheques that are
required, and that may require changes in software."
