Three Canadian businesses take top honors for innovation

For the second year running, PROFIT Magazine and Rogers Cable Communications are recognizing small businesses making a big impact.

The two organizations sponsor the Innovations@Work Award program which distinguishes Canadian small businesses "whose big ideas move their businesses and their industries forward."

This year, iMD Health, Mad Rock Marine Solutions and VitaSound Audio were given the award for innovative approaches to developing products and managing businesses.

Sarah Berkowski, vice president for small business services at Rogers Cable Communications offers praise for the work done by these businesses and other entrepreneurs.

"Small businesses continue to show resilience, tenacity, and courage as they create innovative solutions that succeed despite the turmoil in the economic climate," says Berkowski.

Ian Portsmouth, editor-in-chief of PROFIT Magazine says that Canadian small businesses have taken on an important role of serving the many niche markets in the economy and offering customers a variety of innovative goods and services.
