Despite suffering from the effects of an economic windstorm, a number of small business owners remain optimistic on the future and reflect on their original decision to branch out on their own.
Inc. magazine recently asked a number of its readers and business owners, "What's the best part of owning your own business?"
"Having a goal, a purpose, an income, and a destiny that's in my own hands," is the best part of owning his real estate business said Ian Watt.
"Calling the shots, creative freedom, managing a schedule based on my life needs, being myself and getting paid for it," saidValerie Parizeault owner of Rose Flash Studio when asked the same question.
Inc. reached out to business owners to gather this information via Twitter - the micro-blog that is revolutionizing the way some businesses stay in touch with customers.
In just 140 characters, small businesses are reaching out to prospective clients, product fans and even customers with complaints via Twitter to develop strong customer relationships that may help to increase brand loyalty and ultimately weather the recession.
